The most popular and greatest parks of Tenerife

3 minutes to read

Tenerife is one of the most popular and visited islands of the Canary Islands, and that doesn’t surprise me at all, as it definitely feels like one of the most unique and exotic places you could find in Europe. Apart from its pleasant mild weather and temperatures that barely change throughout the year, you will also find some of the most popular and greatest parks of the archipelago: Loro Park, Siam Park and Teide National Park will, without a doubt, take your breath away.

Loro Park

Located in Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island of Tenerife, we can find a place for adventure, fun, entertainment, animals and birds. Loro Park is one of the top places for a day trip in Tenerife. This exciting park has lots of colourful parrots, the best dolphin and killer whale shows on the island and a Penguinarium, where these cute creatures frolic in conditions similar to their original habitat.

With these entrance tickets, you will spend a day full of fun and excitement and will enjoy its wide variety of animals and 4 shows. You will see beautiful animals around every corner, amusing birds, amazingly talented creatures, colourful marine life and much more. Loro Park definitely deserves a privileged place among Puerto de la Cruz's most visited attractions

Siam Park

However, if you’re looking for the best water ridings and getting to explore more deeply the marine world, there is another place on the island which is in my opinion, one of the best water parks in the world: Siam Park. Siam Park is located in Costa Adeje though, in the south of the island of Tenerife (crossing the island is very easy and doesn’t take long as you can imagine). Siam Park will make you think you are outside of Europe, as all of its architecture is based on Thai themes and is incredibly worth seeing and enjoying.  It was named by TripAdvisor users as the best water park in the world between 2014 and 2019. It also belongs to the Loro Park Group.

I would definitely recommend booking a combined ticket to Loro Parque and Siam Park, the Tenerife's top attractions. You’ll be able to see animal shows at Loro Parque and a variety of marine animals in the aquatic kingdom of Siam Park without having to queue and for a very economical price.

Teide National Park

And last but not least, you can't miss the marvellous Teide National Park, the highlight of Tenerife Island in my opinion. You will enjoy landscapes that will seem to be from another planet. You will breathe the pure air of the highest summit in Spain. When walking among the volcanic lava, you will definitely feel tiny when you see the impressive surroundings declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Teide N.P. is located in the centre of the island, very close to Puerto de la Cruz, at an average altitude of 2,000 metres, and its peak represents the highest one in Spain, at 3,718 metres. Its record figures also include the fact that it is the most visited national park in Spain and Europe, receiving some three million tourists a year. The hundreds of cones, lava flows and caves enrich its scientific and scenic interest. On top os this is its wealth of fauna and flora, with a large number of endemic Canarian species and species exclusive to the park. It covers an area of almost 19,000 hectares, making it the largest and oldest of all the national parks in the Canary Islands.

One of the most exciting experiences one can have in the National Park is to ride the cable car. The base station is at an altitude of 2,356m and the top station at 3,555m. The journey between stations takes about 8 minutes and the sensation is electrifying. Once you have finished the journey, you will enjoy extraordinary views from the viewpoint. Booking this ticket will allow you to discover the landscape of Europe's most visited national park during a guided tour. Take a cable car ride up the highest peak in Spain and see craters and rivers of lava at your feet. It is incredibly worth it!

Loro Park, Siam Park and Teide National Park are must-see places on your visit to the biggest island of the Canary archipielago, Tenerife. Very close to Puerto de la Cruz, millions of tourists keep visiting and choosing these exotic and breath-taking places, making them the most popular and greatest parks of Tenerife, where you will definitely have an unforgettable time and a unique experience.
