The beaches in Tenerife are not as beautiful as in the Mediterranean Sea (you will find rocks rather than white sand), but the island is a wonderful spot for relaxing.\n\nFuerteventura, another well-known island of the archipelago, is the paradise of surfing.\n\nBeside, Gran Canaria and La Palma have great natural reserves, UNESCO-listed.\n\nNature is not everything though: the Canaries as a Spanish territory are a legacy of the former Spanish Empire.
