If you’re looking for an alternative roadtrip suggestion while traveling in Spain, I guess you’re in the right page!

A roadtrip around the Asturian Coast guarantees an unforgettable experience by combining cultural, culinary and of course extreme sport activities, always along with spectacular views and crystal blue beaches! When I visited Asturias for the first time, I was surprised by the beauty of nature offered in this area; mountains, caves, parks, forests, rugged coasts and small medieval-architecture villages that instantly steal your heart. Asturias is the place to go if you can't decide between a holiday in the mountains or at the beach. For a holiday immersed in amazing landscapes and pure nature, Asturias is your dream destination. But where is Asturias? And what’s the story behind this unknown natural paradise?

Asturias, officially the Principality of Asturias, is an autonomous community in north-west Spain. It is coextensive with the province of Asturias, and contains some of the territory that was part of the larger Kingdom of Asturias in the Middle Ages. Divided into eight comarcas (counties), the autonomous community of Asturias is bordered by Cantabria to the east, by Castile and León to the south, by Galicia to the west, and by the Bay of Biscay to the north. The most important cities are the communal capital, Oviedo (Uviéu or Uvieo), the seaport and largest city Gijón (Xixón).

On this page you’ll find a few alternative activities and places that shouldn’t be missed while visiting the Asturias! Remember a 3-day roadtrip would perfectly give you the chance to discover this paradise and to find most of its hidden gems and secrets! Enjoy!
