Tindaya Mountain, in Fuerteventura

Description

The mountain of Tindaya is located in the northwest of Fuerteventura, very close to La Oliva. The ancient aborigines of Fuerteventura considered Tindaya a sacred mountain to which they attributed magical properties, as attested by the more than 300 foot-shaped engravings of great archaeological value that have been found there. This solitary mountain, 400 metres high and sculpted by the passage of time, stands out in the arid, flat landscape of Fuerteventura. © iStock/Daniel Villalobos Oliver
