Thy Teater

Description

Thy Theater is located in Thisted and is a dynamic and outgoing cultural institution that provides a wealth of stage art experiences to all citizens in the area with special focus on children and young people. New Danish drama is the primary artistic feature of our productions. However, we can sometimes also reconsider fresh interpretations of older Danish and foreign texts as well as music drama. We are in the center of Thisted in an older building where we have a small black box with good acoustics and where the audience is close to the performing arts experience. Thy Theater has a democratic audience approach with a varied repertoire, where all genres are represented. So there must be room for everyone at Thy Theater, as we always meet the audience with smile and responsiveness. Thy Theater is also an extremely popular theater, and it's usually sold out to our performances for a long time before. We produce two performances each year and organize workshops and drama lessons, as well as participate in all major cultural events in Thisted Municipality. Thy Theater is part of co-productions with other theaters and works closely with many different cultural actors and associations. Thy Theater participates actively in various business and tourism initiatives in Thisted Municipality.
