Situation Kunst - Museum unter Tage

Situation Art (for Max Imdahl), Part of the art collections of the Ruhr-Universität, is a building ensemble in the park of Haus Weitmar in Bochum with numerous artist spaces of, for example, Richard Serra, Arnulf Rainer, Jan Schoonhoven, Norbert Kricke or Lee Ufan. The entire complex is designed so that art, architecture and nature relate to each other in a dialog. In 2010, Situation Kunst was expanded to include a building: in the meantime used as an exhibition space, lectures and seminars are now taking place in the KUBUS. Since 2015, the underground museum (MuT) offers an additional 1,500 square meters of exhibition space. The so-called "worldviews" will be on display there permanently, a collection of landscape depictions from the 15th century to the present day. In addition, there are temporary exhibitions at MuT.
