Roskilde Golf Klub

Description

Roskilde Golf Club was founded in 1973. Shortly thereafter, some primitive training facilities were established at the Dyrskuepladsen (where the new town hall is now). The members played in the beginning as guests in Holbæk and Køge. In 1978, the club opened its first 9 holes in Kongemarken, and another 3 short holes came into existence in 1982. These 12 holes lasted for many years, while at the same time working on a whole golf course. The clubhouse was originally a scraper, which was remodeled / expanded several times. The 18 hole course was opened on June 5, 1993, but became apparent only after the greens had been redeployed. The course was reopened in spring 1995. In 2002, it was possible to open a 9 hole par3 course. This is located like the 18-hole course, in the immediate vicinity of the clubhouse. In 2003 a new clubhouse was opened with access from Margrethehåbsvej. The old clubhouse was demolished. Today, Roskilde Golf Club is an active club with a good, social and cozy club life.
