Peshtere

Description

Peshtere oldest orthodox monastery with a white bell tower, which is located at a height of 60 m over the river and is a part of the Old Orhei complex, that is at 60 kilometres (37 mi) north-east of Chişinău. Peshtere monastery consists of a church with the altar, groups of cells and tunnels, a corridor with steps conducting to the Raut River.
