The infinite park

Dendrarium Park was opened in 1973 and has a collection of more than 1000 types of trees and rare species of wood. It is situated in a splendid area between several pools and little rivers. Dendrarium hosts a lot of plants, flowers and, especially, a lot of species of roses. They are the real treasure of this park. In addition, you can find here some rare wood species like Ginkgo biloba, pagoda, metasequoia, Canadian tsuga, Douglas fir, yellow pine and others. Dendrarium is taken under the protection of the state as a monument of the architecture, having unique landscape and scientific importance at the same time. One of the most powerful sensations, that you can feel here, is the feeling of the infinity. It has a lot of levels of ecosystems which makes visitors feel like they are wandering many different places on the planet at the same time! Also, right across the road, you can find another picturesque park Valea Morilor

Dendrarium activities

Dendrarium park is a favorite place for the locals to visit in their free time and on weekends. If you are our guest in Chisinau and decide to visit this park, you can even feed the ducks and swans! However, you should always remember to give them only bread. Other food is not welcomed, as it may irritate their tender digestive system. Here, you can also meet many tourists, not only in summer but also during other seasons. Even the students of nearby schools and colleges come here to study for exams, seminars, and even have their meetings in a natural setting! Dendrarium activities also include riding bikes, rollers, making picnics (although fire is prohibited), photo sessions, and other interesting things. Don't forget to take rackets for badminton or a ball to play with your friends on the well-groomed green grass. In the future, there are plans to add the golf terrain to Dendrarium.

Tips for visiting

As I already mentioned, Dendrarium Park has the best roses in Chisinau! They are groomed and are presented in many different colors and sizes. So, as a tip, try to make as many photos as you can, they'll be stunning! Also, if you need to work, but don't want to stay at your hotel, you can take a laptop and spend your working time in the picturesque place here because some areas have free Wi-Fi hotspots. Children will especially enjoy the park since, during the warm months, there is a kids train that takes little visitors on beautiful routes around the place. Parents will be able to ride together with their children. The entrance to the park comes with a symbolic price - 2 leis (0.10 euro) for scholars and students, and 4 leis (0.20 euro) for adults. You can also join guided excursions with the professional guides - they can cost from 10 (0.50 euro) to 15 leis (0.75 euro).
