Have you heard about the town Béziers in France? Do you wonder if it is worth visiting? I'd say definitely, especially if you like architecture and have an eye for detail. Above all, it is an overlooked destination so you will not find many tourists there.
In the winter of 2017, I came to Béziers without knowing much about the town. Christmas Day was such a good occasion to walk along the streets of Béziers because it was completely quiet. While walking under the warm sunshine, I noticed something quite spectacular that I had not seen in any other places. The steel balconies of the houses in the neighborhood I stayed were all in different colors and designs. How sophisticated and intricate the balconies were! The discovery made me curious about the history of the architecture in Béziers. You can find more photos of the balconies on my blog post "Béziers: The Town of Intricate Balconies."
But of course, the balconies were not the only highlights of the town. Some interesting sights to visit are Musée des beaux-Arts and Cathedrale Saint-Nazare de Beziers. I especially liked the tranquil view from the garden of the cathedral. Although I did not have a chance to explore the Canal du Midi, I strongly recommend visiting it because I heard that it would be a wonderful journey.

If you are planning for a relaxing holiday in France, consider the beautiful and quiet town Béziers, where you can enjoy a slow-pace lifestyle. For a comfortable stay, our editors suggest two hotels in the city center: Hôtel XIX Café and Hôtel Impérator. Not too far from the center. Hôtel In Situ is also a good choice as it has an infinity swimming pool.
