Feel young again

Are you enjoying the spring yet? If you are, and especially if you are spending it in Belgrade, then I have some great news for you! We are continuing our journey of Belgrade greenery and discovering the best nature spots in the city, but at the same time we are spicing it up with a bit of an urban vibe. Allow me to introduce you to the, not so hidden, Students’ Square of Belgrade (Studentski Trg).

Right at the city center, not so far away from the infamous Knez Mihailova street and Kalemegdan Park and Fortress, in the very heart of Dorcol/Stari Grad of Belgrade neighborhood, there is a spot where, I promise you, regardless of your age, you will feel young again. You will feel it in the atmosphere and in a light spring breeze. Maybe it is because of all the students, who are always inclined to extreme rushing around to constant hanging out or how we call it in Serbian blejanje. Or maybe it is because of all the universities around that you will feel like you traveled back in time. Some of you might feel anxious while others can have an incessant emotion of nostalgia. Now don’t say I did not warn you! And if you really want to feel like one of the students and immerse in the crowd, then this is the right place for you as Students' Square of Belgrade is a frequent place of student protests (peaceful ones, don’t worry).

There is absolutely no way you can miss Students’ Square of Belgrade. If you find yourself at the Republic Square, simply follow the route of Belgrade Trolleybus lines and you will see a great so called plateau. There, you can enjoy in the numerous cafes, bakeries and pizzerias. Nevertheless, my absolute favorite thing is, of course, Pecina (The Cave) popcorns. Across the plateau, so called Students‘ Park can be found. You will recognize it with a distinctive façade and vintage gates. Bring a book, a good music playlist, or simply an open mind and outgoing spirit for new acquaintances. You will be surprised to meet so many interesting people whose energy is simply contagious. That is among many things, what makes this spot so unique.
