Petrovac - a calm and peaceful Mediterranean place

2 minutes to read

Petrovac is small coastal place with numerous little bays, long beaches and small sandy coves which are the most beautiful in this part of the Adriatic. Petrovac belongs to the Budva Municipality, but unlike Budva it is calm and peaceful Mediterranean place, ideal for families or individuals who prefer quiet spots.

Petrovac is decorated with olives, oranges, laurel, lemons and neriums. The forests that sprout in the rocky valleys are surrounding every bay. The nature around Petrovac is lush, green and diverse. A beautiful promenade along the coastline is adorned with palm trees.

The main beach, 600 m long, is close to the center of the town. A bit outside of the town very popular beaches are also Lučica and Buljarice, also long, calm and clean places. Lučice is situated 800 m outside of the town and is surrounded by tall pine trees. From here, a walking path takes you to Buljarice – 4 km long beach with beautiful surrounding.

When in Petrovac, visit the Castello fortress, which in past was a storehouse for wine and olive oil. Nowadays, the Castello fortress is a historical monument with a nice terrace from where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the sea horizon.

Near town, there are two small islands – Katič and Sveta Nedelja. According to the legend, the little church on Sveta Nedelja Island was built by the sailors who survived shipwreck. It is said that if you go up to the church and ring its bell, it will bring you luck and happiness.

For everyone who prefers calm and peaceful holidays, this Mediterranean place has an attractive offer and even though it is small there are many places to be discovered so that every day can be interesting and different.
