Nature Park Lastovo Islands

1 minutes to read

Lastovo is one of more than 1000 Croatian islands. Lastovo Nature Park is one of many Croatian nature parks and the youngest in the row. Mljet and Korčula on the sea and Dubrovnik and Split in the mainland maybe stole the show but Lastovo is every year seducing more and more people to come. To start this story let’s see Lastovo islands from the above:

Lastovo Islands combine nature’s best colors, shapes and diversity. Made of more than 40 islands this nature park is definitely worth of visiting. Mostly covered with forest (more than 65%) those islands are like little oasis in the middle of the desert. Full of little bays, streams and coves colored with all shades of blue - all that is Lastovo.

Island of Lastovo is also surprising good place for hiking and cycling – for both you can find nice small tables showing you where to go. While hiking you can always stumble-upon on some viewing point with splendid view on all those small islands or even to Korčula or Mljet. What also makes this islands beautiful are lighthouses – three of them are the most famous: Sušac, Struga (in the photo; made in XIX century and it's one of the oldest lighthouses in the Adriatic sea) and Glavat.

Additional info: since there is no airport on the island only way is water – ferry from Split and or catamaran from Split or Dubrovnik.
