Description

Poetic-critical folk theater with a core reference to the Swabian Alb For over three decades Theater Lindenhof has been offering its public "folk theater in the best, indeed the very best sense" (Stuttgarter Zeitung). Far away from the metropolises, this theater has become the epitome of a special home theater that seeks to gain direct access to topics, a deeper discussion, the most robust possible realization and does not forget the humor. Hard and unsprung, sometimes quiet and poetic, sometimes loud and colorful. History and today, archaic and visionary, enlightenment and entertainment are united in a playful way. Fascinating theater excursions outdoors, stagings of classics, local and regional history and storytelling, major theater projects with citizens, and a diverse cabaret program - including numerous world premieres. At every season new ideas are invented and tried. The theater makers have already received a number of awards for their productions: the Volkstheaterpreis of the State of Baden-Württemberg, the Theater Prize of the Stuttgarter Zeitung, the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize of the City of Tübingen and the Kleinkunstpreis of the State of Baden-Württemberg, the BKM Prize of the Federal Government for Cultural Education (2013) and the Monica Bleibtreu Prize of the Private Theater Days Hamburg 2014.
