Description

The Theater began its activity in 1985 and since then it has been organized based on its Productions and Co-productions, Festivals and Cycles and Tours. It offers OPEN representations to the PUBLIC every Sunday at 18h and for GROUPS on school days in the morning, after consultation. PRODUCTIONS: They are the basis of theater programming. To date, some 40 shows have been created, most of them performed by Valencian companies and professionals. These are large-format proposals that are exhibited over a quarter of its premiere. Later they leave of tour and finally they recover after a couple of seasons. COPRODUCTIONS: Sometimes, some companies present us projects that, because of their interest or difficulty, require public support. Escalante co-produces with them in exchange for an exhibition in our theater. TOURS: Our shows go on tour throughout Spain, participating in festivals and programming of various theaters and festivals. FESTIVALS AND CYCLES: A series of festivals and cycles complement and enrich the exhibition of our productions, giving the public a wider vision of theatrical creation both in Spain and abroad. Traditionally Nadal a l'Escalante, Thematic Cycles, Menut Teatre, etc. are organized. PEDAGOGICAL PROPOSALS: As one of the objectives of ESCALANTE is to influence the pedagogical aspect of theatrical shows, all of them are accompanied by some didactic approaches: GENERIC DOSSIER: It serves as a general introduction to all shows and includes a series of activities applicable to any show that the Center programs. SPECIFIC DOSSIER: Prepared with proposals for a concrete show produced or co-produced by Escalante. They are created by a Didactic Department that also designs the corresponding notebook for the student. NOTEBOOK FOR THE STUDENT: It is delivered on the day of the performance and is intended for students to reflect and work on the show they have just seen. SURVEY: Set of questions to analyze and improve our pedagogical work and the march of our theater in general.
