Description

The Regional Park is located at the heart of the Alps of southern Rhaetian Alps in Valle Camonica (Brescia) and includes all the Lombard side of the mountain range of the same name. From an elevation view it extends from the first surveys of the Oglio River valley to 390 meters, up to 3,539 of the Adamello mountain peak. His task is very delicate, it must protect every aspect of the natural heritage, while ensuring the balanced and sustainable relaunch of the mountain territory and its agricultural activities, crafts and tourism. The importance of the Adamello Park is enhanced also by its geographical position, since it acts as a bridge between two adjacent parks: to the east in the Trentino Adamello-Brenta and north of the Stelvio National Park, in neighboring once a National Park Swiss Engadine. Thus the heart of Europe was set up a protected area of 250,000 hectares, the largest in the Alps and one of the most fascinating. The northern end of the Adamello Regional Park has a higher level of protection, in fact, is called Nature Park. The element most obvious distinction between the two types is that in the nature park, as opposed to regional, applies the ban on hunting.
