Palóc Múzeum

Description

The Palóc Museum, situated in the center of the Palócföld, which extends far beyond the borders of the country, has an extremely rich folk culture, and it has a valuable artifact material in rural museums. Its ethnographic collection covers the entire peasant culture of Nógrád County (Hungarian, Slovakian and German nationality). In its collection of historical literature, Imre Madách and Kálmán Mikszáth, in their historical collection, preserve and increase the material and document heritage related to the town of Balassagyarmat. In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the museum welcomes its visitors with its open-air collection, spectacular exhibitions, periodical exhibitions, a wide range of museum pedagogical sessions, series of lectures, other colorful and interesting programs. As a rural knowledge base, it operates a research service, with a library of more than 10,000 volumes available to researchers.
