Description

The Natural History Society was founded in 1801 and is one of the largest voluntary scientific associations in Germany. • We disseminate scientific, archaeological, prehistoric and ethnological knowledge • We promote conservation and monument preservation in Nuremberg and the region • We organize regular public lectures, seminars and excursions mainly from the areas of our departments • We entertain: ==> a museum in the Norishalle, ==> the outdoor aquarium and terrarium in Stein near Nuremberg, ==> the "archaeological adventure playground Megilo" " ==> the nature reserve "Külsheimer Gipshügel" near Bad Windsheim, (owned by the company since 1905), the Dolomite Cave Windloch near Großmeinfeld, the Höllern gypsum cave near Markt Nordheim, as well as archaeological projects in Germany and abroad.
