Description

The National Museum is located in Arandjelovac, a small town about 80km from Belgrade. The museum covers about 900 square meters, and is located in the immediate vicinity of Bukovica Spa. It was founded in 1981. The museum is the guardian of the Ethno House (the House of Ilija Milošević) and the Natural Monument of Risovača (Protected Area of ​​the 1st category and cultural property of great importance). Since 2016, under the auspices of the Museum, the famous town of Orasac, known as the place of the uprising of the First Serbian Uprising, was functioning in 1804. The cave of Risovača was discovered in 1953. About 50 thousand years ago there was a Neanderthal man's habitat. Scientists have discovered over 10 thousand fossil remains of ice-age animals in it.
