Description

A journey through space and time Some milestones of the eventful Laufental history can be seen in the old school building at the city wall (today's Laufentaler Museum) near the St. Catherine's Church. Magnificent ammonites, echinoderms and sea urchins bear witness to the Jurassic era, a mammoth tooth from prehistoric times, the reconstructed head of the oldest skeleton found in Switzerland from the Nenzlingen base (around 6300 BC) and many other finds from the Stone Age. The topic "Romans" documents the findings of a Guthof on Laufner Boden. Other topics include, for example, old craft or living over a hundred years ago. One area is dedicated to the Laufental painter August Cueni from Zwingen. In the archives of the museum you can see local newspapers. Also, our warehouse houses a large number of old books and annual reviews from the Laufentaler communities
