Description

The Museum April - Archaeology To Rome is the result of over twenty years of CESTER work - Centre for the study of the transformations of the territory of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" Roman archeology and an equally long and committed reflection on relationship between / divides the archaeological remains of the contemporary city. In the introductory room of the Museum some project proposals are illustrated aimed at rethinking the role that archeology could play in the qualification process of the peripheral urban areas. In the other rooms of the museum you have chosen to illustrate some fragments of the city's history through the archaeological remains found in many excavations conducted in the suburban areas south-east of Rome with a simple language, useful to the explanation of the archaeological information, to the story, including through special paths or educational tools. These results are structured around two major themes, "death" and "home life" fruit respectively investigation of the necropolis and villas dating back to periods between the Republican age and Late Antiquity. The layout of the museum is designed for both young people in schools, and for all citizens who want to realize the importance and the charm of the stories that many archaeological sites outside the city walls testify.
