Description

Established in 1976 by Dr. Marcel Maulini, recounting two centuries of mining activity, the Museum evokes the hard work that was working at the bottom of the mine, but also a great solidarity among men. At the height of its activity, the coalfield employed 1,500 people, which produced 200,000 tons of coal in the year. It is 1900 that will be felt declining profitability and generate the final closure of operations in 1958. It is a tribute to those workers of darkness, this museum was built. You will discover an exceptional collection of lamps, as well as moving explanation of the harsh conditions of life and work of the men working in the bowels of the earth.
