Description
Mrauk U, the ruined capital of an ancient Arakanese kingdom, is a good alternative to Bagan. The pagodas, if anything, look even more weathered and magical,and there are no tourist crowds to detract from the ambiance. Dawns and sunsets are gorgeous here, usually misty, colorful and sublime at once.
