Description

The Ľubovnian Museum - the castle in Stare Ľubovni is a regional collector, scientific and cultural institution in the field of museum activities in the district of Stará Ľubovňa and Zamaguria - Pieni. It was founded in 1956. It manages an important cultural monument - the medieval castle of Ľubovňa and the ethnographic exhibition in nature (open-air museum) with a wooden Greek-Catholic church of St. Michael Archangel from 1833 from Matys. In its exhibitions, the museum presents the history of the castle, nobility, medieval crafts, period housing, sacred art, folk architecture and housing, technical monuments, and so on. The novelties are replicas of Polish coronation jewels that were hidden in this castle during the Polish-Swedish war. Sights in museum management have become a major tourist development center in Upper Spies in recent years.
