Description

Loulé is an ever-growing city on the hills Algarve, that contrasts with the beach atmosphere of the coastal areas. Though the Loulé coastline is very well known, as it includes luxurious resorts in Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura, with sandy beaches, elegant hotels, huge golf courses, marinas, amongst other things. The city itself also has a charm of the past, the historical center deserves to be explored, the Mother Church, the Municipal Museum and the neighboring gardens are reason enough, as well as its streets filled with craftsmen. Ceramics, iron and copper objects and wooden toys are some of the handmade pieces produced in Loulé. In July the city holds a fair for handcrafted itens, amongst many other events throughout the year, like The MED music festival or the LUZA light festival. Also one of the city's most famous landmarks is the impressive Arab-inspired Loulé Market.
