La Paz is a waterfall in central Costa Rica. The waterfall is located near the Poás volcano in the higher regions of Costa Rican coffee country. The River La Paz forms the waterfall after traversing 8 kilometres (5 mi) of volcanic terrain, and then continues through the rainforest of the eastern side of Poás Volcano and National Park. La Paz Waterfall Gardens hosts a lodge, restaurants, and educational exhibits, such as: aviary of tropical birds, Butterfly Observatory, Serpentarium, Ranarium (tropical frogs!), Monkey House, Hummingbird Gardens, Orchid Exhibits and more.
