Description

The National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art houses the most comprehensive collection dedicated to Italian and foreign between the nineteenth and twenty-first century. Including paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations, nearly 20,000 works in the collection are the expression of the major art movements of the last two centuries, from Neoclassicism to Impressionism, Pointillism from the historic avant-garde movements of the early twentieth century, from Futurism and Surrealism, as important collection of Italian art between the '20s and' 40s, the movement of the twentieth century the so-called Roman School. Another important group consists of works of the informal period after World War II, those of Pop Art and Arte Povera. The collection also includes artists of our time.
