The k.u.k. Christmas market is surrounded by historic buildings. In the background is the Hofburg, where the Habsburgs resided and ruled. Opposite is the almost 800 years old Michaelerkirche. Even the ground under the feet of the Christmas market visitors is historically charged - this shows the Roman camp, which has been uncovered and made accessible to all. In order to live up to the ambience, the Christmas stands were designed like lovable miniatures of the stately Hofburg. They are decorated in white and decorated with golden ornaments reminiscent of imperial insignia.
