Guilaine at Guilaine Arts Gallery is a french female artist, originally from the french caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Coming from a family with a musical, craft and design background, Guilaine automatically developed some great interests for the industry. Her art speaks to emotion as well as to reason Guilaine, a self-taught artist, has developed through those years her personal artistic style. She uses acrylic most oftenly due to its versatility. Her current work is figurative, depicting predominantly female characters, coming, most of the time, from her own imagination. Some of Guilaine's work explores the concept of cultural identity (personal and social), while others help raising awarness for the environmental insecurities and risks, envisioning a new way of life. Her art speaks to emotion as well as to reason. Guilaine describes her work as the art of the soul.
