From 1851, year of opening, until 1980 the mine has marked the destiny of a territory, defining new and surprising aspects. The history of mining relives today thanks to a rich museum route through which it is possible to reconstruct the history of its mining activities: a visit to the Santa Barbara gallery and Laveria allow the visitor to learn about a reality that has indelibly marked the contemporary Sardinia .
