Description

The Druskininkai Museum of Resistance and Exile was established by the efforts of ex-deportees and political prisoners in 1996. The Museum presents three permanent expositions for exiles, armed resistance and unarmed resistance. Exposition stands tell about 1944 - 1953 the entire Lithuanian resistance movement, the partisan struggle of the Dainava district, and the participation of women in the partisan movement are singled out separately. There is also a memorial room for A. Dambrauskas, a former political prisoner, a prominent cultural figure. Museum efforts in 1997 the two partisan bunkers were restored and the first "Partizanai takas" touristic route, which was constantly on the theme of guerrilla warfare in Lithuania, was established.
