Bamberg Cathedral

Description

The State Library attracts virtually unique manuscripts as the Bamberg Apocalypse, which is a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage, and with exhibitions from its rich holdings. The Diocesan Museum boasts the Sternenmantel the diocese founder Emperor Henry II., An exquisite replica of Henry Crown and obtained in Bamberg parts of the former cathedral treasury. The Historical Museum in the Old Court has exhibits on the development of the city. In the Staatsgalerie Bamberg in the New Residence famous paintings hang like the deluge of Hans Baldung Grien. The state rooms radiate today from the splendor and authentic atmosphere of a princely castle building. In the middle of the Bamberg Cathedral is growing towards the sky and houses the world famous sculpture of the Bamberg Rider.
