San Benedetto del Tronto is an important town on the Marche Riviera. It has been a vital fishing center for Italy, and it is now one of the largest seaside resorts on the Italian side of the Adriatic sea. The city is crossed by the Albula torrent and the river Tronto in the south. It has a long beach of fine white sand, and shallow waters characterize it. The boardwalk stands out for the rich vegetation, formed primarily by countless palm trees that also grow on the beach. 

For this reason, San Benedetto is also referred to as the 'Riviera delle Palme.' Originally its interior was furnished in a colonial style with prevalence of wood and ceramics. In 1992, the furnishings were renovated and today a classic style, in which timber and marble prevail, is characterizing its interior. Coffee mills, still used for the preparation of the various mixtures, have also been preserved. Particularly known among the inhabitants of San Benedetto and the many tourists who visit the city is the sign with "the man wearing a straw skirt and holding a coffee bean in one hand". It is one of the most representative places of the city, both due to its history and the personas that have passed from here. The place is also famous for the high-quality offer of coffee blends, obtained from the best qualities of Arabica and Robusta. 

It is also possible to taste on site the freshly ground coffee and other drinks, such as tea and chocolate in a cup. The roasting coffee mixtures of this place appear on the “Gambero Rosso” magazine ( an Italian Michelin guide) with “3 grains”. It is the maximum recognition that does not have equal in the south of the Marche!  Also, you can buy typical and precious products, like the finest chocolate,  jams, candies, and liquor.

Cecaloni Pasta all’Uovo

It is located in the city center, and it hosts the street market weekly. Still visible and working are a machine for the production of tortellini from the ’60s and some other equipment for working the pasta. They were all a great deal back in those years in terms of production capacity - don't forget they were still unseen in the area at that time. Characteristic is the sign reading “tortellini” positioned on the façade of the building. Must try are "olive all'ascolana": The olives ascolane, one of the most representative of Piceno, are green olives, stuffed with a mixture of meat and then fried. Simply delicious!
