Velence, with its lake and the Velence hills, is a nice, cozy resort town, and it is only 50 kilometers away from Budapest. The Gate of Lake Velence was created in 2006, and it is the biggest mall in the area. The Velence Korzó is rapidly becoming a community space, where the balance between the shopping and entertainment, the work and relaxation is achieved, where families, friends and business partners can share experiences. The shopping center was opened on 30th May 2014. The constructors really did their utmost, as they have not only built a shopping center but also made faceless shingles along the lake and trees were planted. They have renewed and expanded the old, small market’s parking lots, renovated the restaurants, and created several-mile-long walkways. In the eastern part of the building, domestic and international fashion companies are represented. In the southern region, there is a catering complex with eight separated restaurants. In addition, there is a 9670-square-foot beach in the courtyard, as well as further hospitality units selling culinary specialities. On the giant stage at the top of Korzó, performances are held during the summer theater festival.

The biggest shot of the summer, the EFOTT Festival

Nowadays, EFOTT is one of the most significant festivals among young people and the largest students event in Hungary. However, EFOTT is not just a party, since the organizers of the festival have been, for years, focusing not only on music events but also on boosting sports, gastronomic and cultural life of young people. Thanks to these, the programs are expanding almost every year, not just in terms of quantity, but also concerning their quality. The 2018 EFOTT Festival features headlining Jessie J, who is coming to Hungary for the first time. Visitors will also have the chance to meet the British favourite, John Newman, but they can enjoy Lost Frequencies’ music as well, and The Dub FX is coming too if you are a lover of drum and bass.

The wonderful beach of Lake Velence

Nobody likes walking on sharp stones of beaches and getting into the water that is reaching the neck, after only a few steps. That's why the sandy, evenly deepening shore allows you to enjoy comfortable and safe access to Lake Velence. There are shaders in the water, so you do not even have to worry about the burning sun. At the Sunshine Beach, you have the opportunity to rent a water bicycle/pedalo, if you are a fond of active relaxation. But there are also volleyball and basketball courts, football field, and you can rent other sports equipment if you’d like to.

Let’s not forget about beach food, which is an indispensable part of the beach culture. You can find it on the Sunshine Beach without exception, as well as gourmet menu offers. And last, but not least, children can enjoy fantastic playgrounds in the beach area.
