San Felipe de Neri Temple's rooftop
San Felipe de Neri is a catholic temple that has a remarkable painting collection but, actually, its most visited place is its rooftop! Walking through the different areas of this rooftop, it is possible to have beautiful and photogenic views of the city in several directions. Even us, as locals, enjoy spending a while relaxing on this rooftop from time to time.

While you enjoy the view, think about the curious story of the construction of this Temple that goes as follows. Every Sunday, an archbishop – called José Antonio de San Alberto - used to invite its congregation, after the mass, to go up to one of the two hills of the city, giving an example himself to come back with a stone, as a sign of penitence. That is how he gathered the main material for the construction of the temple that we know today, using those stones for San Felipe de Neri's construction.
La Recoleta
La Recoleta is the most popular viewpoint of Sucre. It is located in the upper part of the city, at just 15 minutes walk from the Main Square. An open coffee shop called Café Gourmet Mirador is located right there to enjoy a coffee facing a fantastic view.
Right next to the viewpoint, a pedestrian street is full of handicrafts, including textiles made of sheep, llama, alpaca, and vicuna wool. Also, the Convent Museum of La Recoleta, the Museum of Indigenous Art, and the Cats Neighborhood are just a few steps away from La Recoleta.

San Miguel Temple's bell tower
San Miguel is another catholic temple. It has one of the highest bell towers of the city, though this is a special one since it has a coffee shop inside! It is called La Torre (The Tower), and it is not only opened for coffee but also breakfast, lunch, and dinner services. Every floor of the bell tower is a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or drink and, getting to the highest level, a beautiful view of Sucre awaits. This is the place where you can literally take a coffee break halfway up to the top of the bell tower!
If you are interested, do not forget to visit the San Miguel temple to admire its Mudejar style wooden coffered ceiling.
