The only thing I like better than talking about food is eating.
If you have been wondering where to eat once you are in Tirana and especially for cheap prices, I have some suggestions for you. Here's the list...
Zgara Korcare
Zgara Korçare is a traditional Albanian chain restaurant which is spread all over the country. Both tables and chairs are made of wood and in walls you can spot some black and white photos. Here you can try some delicious traditional food for very cheap prices but still the quality is very good. The specialities offered by Zgara Korçare consist mostly in a huge variety of meat like qofte, lamb, pork, chicken, beef as well as different kinds of cheeses, salads and vegetables. Also, Zgara is very famous for the albanian beer tradition where the best one is Birra Korca. This restaurant is highly frequented by almost everyone, especially students which are always hunting for cheap things. Don't try to taste the albanian byrek and one of our main traditional dishes Tave Kosi.
Pastaria
Without doubt, Pastaria is the most famous restaurant currently in Tirana. It is an italian influenced restaurant and it offers high quality,cheap prices, excellent service but above all it offers delicious handmade pasta. Since I discovered this restaurant, I just can't get enough and I keep ordering pasta. You will never get bored of it too because Pastaria offers multiple choices when it comes to pasta and so you can try each time something new. My favorite: Tagliatelle with Ragu. As for the interior, Pastaria is a cute little place with a minimal design.
Artigiano
Artigiano is also an italian food restaurant which serves Pizza, Salads, Appetisers, Bruschettas, Soups, Main courses, Sandwiches, Burgers, Piadinas and Desserts. The prices are not as cheap as in Zgara Korcare and Pastaria but however the prices are affordable and the food is very high quality. Also, I have to mention that Artigiano has the best costumer service by far ! In Tirana, There's two Artigiano restaurants in Tirana, but my favorite is Artigiano at Old Villa. The service doesn't differ from one another just the architecture and the place where it's located. Artigiano at Old Villa is situated in a relatively calm and cozy neighborhood, it occupies a large place and it has a big veranda and my favorite ;it has a terrace. Perfect for these warm spring days!
