The end of the road at John o'Groats

John o'Groats is a very small village 2.5 miles (4 km) NE of the village of Canisbay, in the far north of Scotland. John o'Groats lies on Great Britain's north-eastern tip, and is a very popular place amongst tourists as it is one end of the longest distance between two inhabited British points on the mainland, with Land's End in Cornwall lying 876 miles (1,410 km) to the southwest. It is almost the most northerly point on the island of Britain (since Dunnet Head is farther north). John o’Groats is also the place where a challenging and iconic long distance ride finishes. I truly believe that cycling is one of the best ways to explore places and find the most beautiful landscapes ever. Undertaking this awesome cycling route also means that you will pass through some of the most beautiful and picturesque landscapes in the United Kingdom. Besides, you could feel proud of having completed one of the most challenging rides the UK has to offer, since the difficulty of this long route is quite high. There is no official route from Land's End to John o'Groats (also called LEJOG, JOGLE or End to End), instead there are many routes detailed in various guides and websites.

So why not spend several days in this incredible Scottish area if you feel like having an adventure. There are many things to do, starting from taking the typical picture by the popular landmark "Journey's End" signpost at John o'Groats, walking along the north coast (from John O’Groats to Duncansby Head where you’ll see two incredible sea stacks), and spotting the Northern Lights, which can often be seen from Caithness, dancing in clear skies over Orkney.
