2 minutes to read

Born in the United States at the beginning of the 1990s, Lollapalooza is one of the biggest music festivals in the world. This festival was such a success that similar events travelled to other countries such as Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Germany. In July 2017, Lollapalooza finally landed in Paris! The festival takes place in the Longchamp Racecourse, the horse-racing facility built in 1857 by architect Antoine-Nicolas Bailly in the southwestern part of the Bois de Boulogne. Lollapalooza is a perfect event where you can enjoy in hot summer days in Paris. About Lollapalooza

Perry Farrell, an American musician and Jane’s Addiction band frontman, created an alternative rock summer music festival in 1991 in Chicago and named it Lollapalooza. The word “lollapalooza” has a double meaning. It can mean “an extraordinary or unusual thing, person, or event” or even a giant lollipop. This four-day music event had a huge success in Chicago and welcomed several thousands of people every year. In 2011, the festival was introduced to South America, first in Santiago, Chile, then in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first Lollapalooza in Europe was held in Berlin, Germany, at the former Tempelhof Airport that is not in use since October 2008. In June 2017, Lollapalooza was finally organised in Paris, in the Longchamp Racecourse. It was a perfect opportunity for Parisians to attend concerts of some most famous international musicians such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, London Grammar, and Liam Gallagher.

Kidzapalooza

If you have children, and you can’t find a nanny to keep an eye on them, don’t worry. You can take your children with you. It will be fun! Lollapalooza is perfectly suited for family visits. This summer music festival in Paris has a space named Kidzapalooza, specially dedicated to parents and their children. This unique place is an excellent way for entire families to spend some quality time together in the Lollapalooza spirit. The 2-day pass for children from 0 to 10 is only 10 euros and one day ticket 6 euros.
