Alfred Nobel, the creator

Alfred Nobel was an entrepreneur and inventor. He was a Swedish guy who mixed nitroglycerine with kieselguhr and created dynamite to blast rocks and was afraid it was going to be used for evil. He wanted the peace prize centre to be built in Norway since during those days, Sweden was not peaceful and Norway was. There you have the reason why it's in Oslo. The shop

The centre is super central in Oslo and right next to the city hall. Since you save money on transport to the place you'd probably like to know about the museum shop. A book from every year with the winner on the cover is available for you in the shop. If it's too expensive, you should know that you can find the same books in the library of Oslo because the government buys 1000 copies of most published books in Norway and puts them in the libraries for anyone to absorb the knowledge. The shop gives you handcrafted models and influential cards and objects that spread the idea of promoting peace and goodness to the world. And yes, everything is marked as ''fair trade'' and are mostly supporting a charity of the author's choice. You have jewellery, teddy bears, books related to peace, and all kinds of gooey and sweet materials

You can nominate someone if you're a professor, part of the government, previous member of the peace committee, and in a few other ways. You can't nominate yourself. The leader of the peace price Olav Njølstad says it is nice to have broad opportunities for nominations to have the most suitable candidate even though it requires more evaluation
