Lower Sava

Lower Sava is a region located in the southeast of the country, in the Sava and Krka Valleys, bordering Croatia. These valleys are famous for their vineyards, making it the perfect area to try and enjoy some local wine....

The biggest city is Krsko. Along the Sava river, Krsko has plenty of archeological evidence, dating back to the human civilizations who lived there during the Bronze and Iron ages. On top of that, you will come across Roman and Ottoman buildings, that make it a place with a mix of multiple different people and cultures. Besides the many religious buildings such as churches and cathedrals, you might want to go and visit the 12th century castle of Krsko. A bit further up the Sava river, Radece is also another quiet place where you would like to spend some time.
