The landscape is hilly in the region with the Tatra (which includes the most popular winter resort), Pieniny and Beskidy Mountains. There are many historic sites to visit such as the salt mine at Wieliczka, the pilgrimage town of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, Krakow’s old town, the town of Bochnia with its salt mine. The area of Oswiecim also has a strong history because it’s the place of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - Birkenau.
