it borders Romania and Ukraine to the East. The region includes the counties of Hajdu-Bihar, Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok and Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg. The region is known for its typical villages and farms that preserve the pure hungarian tradition. Through your different stops in the region, you will, each time, go back to a different time. The region is rich in cultural values: churches, thermal baths, belfries, mansions and castles are some of them. The region is also known for its rich and unique flora and fauna due to the dead channels that the river creates. Before leaving the region don’t forget to stop in the Hortobagy National Park.
