The county of Medimurje is the most northeastern region of the country. It borders Slovenia and Hungary....

The capital of the region is the city of Cakovec. The city is quite famous for his Medieval fortification, the castle of Cakovec and the church of Saint Anthony of Padua. One of the other cities of the region is Strigova, which is located on the borders between Slovenia and Croatia. The city has a really impressive church, the Saint Jerome church. In this county there are two river crossings ; Mura and Drava. You can also have some walks around the lakes of Varazdin and Dubrava.
