Karlovac

Karlovac county is the central region of the country, just between the northern and southern part of the country. The region borders Slovenia on the north and Bosnia-Herzegovina on the south....

The capital city here is Karlovac. But the region is mostly known for its nature. In the north you will find mountains, with the Bjelolasica ski station. This region is really cold during the winter, which is also the best skiing place of the country. During the summer the region reaches really hot temperatures. The mountains become a great hiking place. The south of the region has lots of rivers like ; Korana and Slunjčica river. But the best place to swim and even walk during the summer is the National park of Plitvice lakes.
