Kotayk

Kotayk is a province located in the central part of Armenia....

Its capital is Hrazdan, and the largest city is Abovyan. History plays an important role in the region, that counts many ancient landmarks and tourist attractions, such as the 1st-century Temple of Garni, the medieval Bjni Fortress, 11th-century Kecharis Monastery and the 13th-century monastery of Geghard. The region is also known for its popular winter sports resorts, the spa-town of Tsaghkadzor and the mountain resort of Aghveran.
