Bucharest stress smasher: The Break Room

3 minutes to read

Burnout is something real. If we look it up in a dictionary, we can learn that it occurs due to a stressful environment and signifies a mental or physical collapse. Because of burnout, people have found ways to relieve stress. By doing fun activities like yoga, hiking or swimming, we bring balance to our lives. Living in Romania’s capital, Bucharest has certain advantages. One of them is having a stress smasher at my disposal, the Break Room. Located in the city center, close to the one-of-a-kind palace: The People’s House, this place offers stress release in the most fun way possible.

What is a break room?

You may be wondering what one actually does in a break room. The idea is pretty simple, yet the effect is an addiction to a fun way of eliminating stress. A break room is often a warehouse or a large open space where people go to break items with baseball bats, crowbars or sledgehammers. The idea behind this concept is that breaking objects lowers our stress levels and is, at the same time, an enjoyable activity. Many people see going to a break room together with friends as being a unique moment of bonding and cheer.

There are several breaking packages which the customers get to pick from. The purchasers have absolute smashing control over what they acquired and are allowed to customize their list of objects to shatter. There are several objects available for breaking - electronics, kitchen items, bathroom tiles, mirrors, printers, TVs, telephones, furniture or even toilet bowls.

Why does breaking things lower our stress levels?

There are many existing speculations as to why breaking things helps with our stress. The main one is that when we are in stressful situations, we accumulate a lot of tension. As this tension keeps building up, it triggers a fight or flight impulse. Most people get rid of this tension, which is a built up energy, by choosing the breaking of things as an outlet. If we have things to unload our stress on, then we don’t redirect that stress towards other people. There is no need to yell, be angry, and thus hurt someone we love or care for.

Why choosing Bucharest Break Room?

The Break Room in Bucharest is Romania’s only place where one can safely destroy objects in a contained space and relieve stress while making a total mess. One can break a myriad of items in this warehouse close to the city center, get rid of built-up stress and have a day filled with laughter

This break room is popular among corporations which send their employees to do team building exercises here. Furthermore, this place has seen a fair share of anniversaries, bachelor and bachelorette parties or just groups of friends competing against each other for the most smashed objects in the warehouse.

Because the experience of smashing things and diminishing stress is so sought-after, make sure to check the break room’s schedule and even make a reservation, if you wish to partake in the experience in high numbers. Even though the warehouse can accommodate up to 25 people at once, it is better to be safe than sorry, and secure the time slot that suits you best.

The Break Room is truly Bucharest’s stress smasher. No matter where we come from or where we’re going, taking time for ourselves and our mental well-being is very important. A quick breaking session can energize you after a day of walking through Bucharest, can make you see things from a different perspective, and put some swagger in your step. When stress is released, joy can be found. What other way is there to visit Bucharest, than with joy and positive energy? Smash away items in the Break Room and leave the place with a smile on your face.
