Where to find it?

A birdwatching hideaway

Near Lake Atanasovsko, you will find a hideaway, specially built for birdwatching, so visitors do not interfere with the natural flow of life in the area. The hideaway is located on the west side of the lake, and it is a part of the “Burgas Salt Pans” natural reserve. This building is designed to offer the most optimal way for observation. It is equipped with big windows, binoculars as well as all the information you need to know about the bird varieties. This whole experience is free of charge.

About the birds

In Bulgaria, there are 423 known bird species, and near Lake Atanasovsko, you can see more than 75 percent of them. This number includes birds that migrate, spend the winter or nest in the area. Most of them are very significant in Europe as they are endangered for the territory of the country or for the world. Of course, due to the migration habits of the birds, the birdwatching experience varies in the different seasons. But this fact only increases the importance and value of the place.
